Meet the Therapist
Hi! I'm Janelle James.
I love love love helping people develop a better understanding of themselves and others. More than 16 years of counseling in a variety of settings and 30+ years of my own marriage have deepened my skills and passion for helping individuals and couples overcome obstacles and embrace a more fulfilling life.
I am proud to be verified by Psychology Today. I am also a certified EMDR therapist and a member of EMDRIA (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association) as well as the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association and the Mental Health Association in Michigan.
Therapy Approach
At TransitionWell Counseling & Consulting, I primarily use ACT, (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
I take a down-to-earth and relatable approach, resulting in open communication which allows my clients to feel understood and supported.
We will work to identify your values and resolve the negative beliefs keeping you stuck. We'll use talking, writing, art, EMDR, psychoeducation, music, and more.
Spiritually, I am a Christian. However, I will never force my faith on you. I believe everyone is on their own spiritual journey. If you find it helpful, I will always be willing to pray with you.

For Individuals: I provide a safe and supportive virtual space for clients to work towards personal growth and healing. Serving MI, FL, and LA.
For Organizations: As a mental health business consultant, I collaborate with organizations nationwide, in-person and online, to optimize performance and foster positive work cultures through strategic planning, group education, and conflict resolution.
For Therapists: I offer valuable online consultation nationwide to other therapists so they can enhance their skills and effectiveness, providing the best care for their clients.
